Manoa Falls

Well I’m back from spending a wonderful Christmas in Hawaii. I will post more about it later including our hotel tour of Honolulu.

We didn’t get to explore much of the island except for Waikiki. However one of our excursions away from all the tourists was up to Manoa Falls. Located a quick drive away close to the University of Hawaii campus is the entryway to the falls.

The trail up was not difficult though you had to concentrate on where you were stepping since the path was frequently muddy and slippery. There were various sections to the trail starting with a tropical rain forest.

Unfortunately we couldn’t go into the waterfalls due to a recent rock slide. We were fortunate enough to go there when it wasn’t raining though the canopy would have easily kept us dry enough. On our way down we crossed paths with a women climbing up with a camera and walking up barefooted! If you get a chance and want an easy hike within Honolulu then come to Manoa Falls. Next time we will hike up Diamond head.
